Automotive journalism is a funny business, from the "I can't believe I'm getting paid for this" elation of a road test, to the "3000 words by when?" desk-bound reality of it all. I've been writing about cars for the last decade with humble beginnings as part of a web-based road test team, filming cars for the internet. This led to the news editor allowing me to write short tests for the now sadly ex automotive-online.com road test pages.
My work has taken me to some incredible venues and introduced me to some inspirational people; the hallowed Millbrook Test And Development Centre and Bedford Autodrome in the company of EVO magazine being recent highlights.
I've been lucky enough to scoop a couple of accolades in 2006, winning the Dunlop South West "Pen 2 The Metal" award for automotive journalism, I was also selected as one of the top two national automotive writers by the editors at EVO magazine.
